Deacon Tom was born and raised in the Bronx; he is an alumnus of The Bronx High School of Science, SUNY Stony Brook, Trinity College, and the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception.

Deacon Tom has been married since 1983 to Margaret and has two adult daughters: Kimberly and Karen, and three grandchildren: Paige, Jack, and James. He is a board certified Physician Assistant with over 30 years of clinical practice experience in primary care and occupational medicine.

Deacon Tom has a long history as a volunteer Boy Scout leader in New York City. He is coordinator of the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, the Baptism ministry and is a member of the RCIA team; he is also the spiritual advisor for the Parish Society of Saint Vincent DePaul Conference and the Legion of Mary.

Currently Deacon Tom sits on the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting, he is active in the New Hyde Park-North Shore Elks Lodge, and he and Margaret are Knights of the Holy Sepulchre. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
