Mission Statement

The Rosary Society of Notre Dame embraces our threefold ministry:

  1. To promote veneration of and devotion to our Blessed Mother through recitation of the Rosary and meditation on its Mysteries,
    2. To provide charitable service to the parish community, and
    3. To cultivate an active faith-based social/service network of multi-generational and multicultural membership in the Rosary Society.

We reinforce our spiritual mission at each meeting. Our opening includes the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of a decade of the Rosary. After a brief business recap, various speakers and entertainers are scheduled throughout the year followed by a variety of refreshments and baked goods. Future ministry and social events are discussed for input from our members during these meetings.

The Rosary Society meets on the first Sunday of each month at the 10:30am Mass, after which we will gather in the school cafeteria for the scheduled meetings during our 2018-2019 service year.

2018-2019 Highlights

Retreat: A half-day annual Morning of Reflection is being scheduled to enhance our individual spirituality. We will look within ourselves, in stillness and silence, setting aside deadlines and obligations that dominate our daily lives.

Christmas Party: This year’s popular and well-enjoyed annual event, will be celebrated at Pompeii Restaurant on Saturday, December 8th. Members and guests are welcome to share an afternoon of Christmas cheer complete with prize raffles and our Winner-Take-Half drawing.

Annual Outing: Our annual outing, this year, will be a day-trip to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island in the spring.

Fundraisers: These events are conducted throughout the year to support the spiritual and service missions of the parish.

Rosary Society News

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

                                                                                                From The Angelus Prayer

Our end of year luncheon will be on June 2, 2019. We will celebrate our 2018-2019 service year in the large school cafeteria after the 10:30am mass. The cost for the luncheon will be covered by the Rosary Society this year. It is obligatory to RSVP to Helen McGuire at 516-848-0588. We will be placing our food order only for those who respond to avoid waste of food and funds. We look forward to seeing all members at the luncheon!

The popularity of the venues we researched for our May trip has prohibited us from booking for this year. Our search centered on reflective retreat grounds that could accommodate the locomotive needs of all of our members. We will begin to plan the 2020 trip in September of this year. Deposits will be due in October. All will be welcome to join us for the day trip. The venue, date and cost will be announced by early October. Please check the bulletin and our webpage for emerging details around that time.

Thanks for all who have worked so hard this year to make this another successful year! We’d like to especially thank Fr. Scolaro for the support, encouragement, and blessings he has given us as we strive to maintain the role of the Rosary Society as a vital part of parish life.

Rosarians are requested to sit in the reserved pews at the front of the church on meeting Sundays.
