Mission Statement

The Rosary Society of Notre Dame embraces our threefold ministry:

  1. To promote veneration of and devotion to our Blessed Mother through recitation of the Rosary and meditation on its Mysteries,
    2. To provide charitable service to the parish community, and
    3. To cultivate an active faith-based social/service network of multi-generational and multicultural membership in the Rosary Society.

We reinforce our spiritual mission at each meeting. Our opening includes the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of a decade of the Rosary. After a brief business recap, various speakers and entertainers are scheduled throughout the year followed by a variety of refreshments and baked goods. Future ministry and social events are discussed for input from our members during these meetings.

The Rosary Society meets on the first Sunday of each month at the 10:30am Mass, after which we will gather in the school cafeteria for the scheduled meetings during our 2018-2019 service year.

2018-2019 Highlights

Retreat: A half-day annual Morning of Reflection is being scheduled to enhance our individual spirituality. We will look within ourselves, in stillness and silence, setting aside deadlines and obligations that dominate our daily lives.

Christmas Party: This year’s popular and well-enjoyed annual event, will be celebrated at Pompeii Restaurant on Saturday, December 8th. Members and guests are welcome to share an afternoon of Christmas cheer complete with prize raffles and our Winner-Take-Half drawing.

Annual Outing: Our annual outing, this year, will be a day-trip to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island in the spring.

Fundraisers: These events are conducted throughout the year to support the spiritual and service missions of the parish.

Rosary Bulletin Post

To Mary, the one who lived out her yes

To Mary, who was a pregnant teen

To Mary, the one who was homeless

To Mary, the one who trusted a dream

                                    Pray for us.

Mary, teach us to say yes.

Mary, the ultimate model of holiness

Lead us, guide us and grow in us.

The Rosary Society thanks Kathy McIntyre who led our guests and members through Mary’s life as a living, loving, suffering yet always faithful woman. Ms. McIntyre skillfully paralleled Mary’s life to our modern-day lives using reflections, prayer and meditation. It was a beautiful and moving tribute to Our Lady’s life and its continued influence today.

Please remember our annual fun-filled Christmas party scheduled for Saturday, December 8th at Pompei restaurant in West Hempstead from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. The afternoon will be complete with a full course meal, caroling, and professional entrainment. Raffles include table baskets, donor raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
